Welcome to the Ripcurls Volleyball Club Website,

Ripcurls Volleyball Club is owned by Mike and Rhonda Jackson. Ripcurls is a dedicated girls volleyball club and is the "sister" club to OC Riptides Volleyball Club which is dedicated to boys volleyball and is primarily operated by Rhonda.

Daily operational duties are divided mainly between Mike and Colleen McFaul (Assistant Director & 18-Tsunami Head Coach) to take advantage of our strengths while minimizing our weaknesses. Rhonda’s duties include member liaison and sales spokesperson.

We are very excited to announce the expansion of both clubs to the North San Diego area (Oceanside) for the 2009/10 season! We have secured a small practice facility, have already installed one court and Riptides has begun practices. There is a lot more to do, but the journey is underway!

Ripcurls just finished its third year of operation fielding 6 teams even during last year's major economic downturn ranging in age from 13’s to 18’s. The club is primarily geared toward preparing teams to qualify and compete in the USAV Junior Olympics; however, teams that do not qualify will attend another end-of-season national-level event.

All of the Ripcurls family takes great pride in offering a high quality volleyball program. This commitment to excellence can be seen in all our endeavors including a highly organized tryout process, consistent/well-planned practices, outstanding communications, awesome uniforms, organized trips and parent feedback forms at the end of the season so you can let us know how we did.

Ripcurls coaches are required to provide a positive learning environment where players are encouraged to focus on volleyball fundamentals. Players are required to play high-level, high-energy, all-out-effort volleyball at practices and tournaments. The importance of “team” and hard work are at the core of our training regimen.

Another primary Ripcurls objective is to assist your daughters in obtaining a scholarship should they wish to continue to play at the collegiate level. To this end, we expanded our recruiting program by assembling a top-notch team to focus on particular age groups. This team consists of Colleen McFaul (18's Head Coach), myself and Rhonda as well.

Finally, Ripcurls is dedicated to promoting a “family environment”. We do not have thirty teams and do not aspire to do so. You will see Rhonda or myself (or sometimes both) at practices and tournaments. By the end of the season I will know most of the girls’ names and even some of the parents as well.

For our first season, our call was “the journey begins”. Last year, it was "the journey continues!" and this year "opportunities abound as the journey continues!"

So to our new "family members" in/around Oceanside, WELCOME!
